Kitchen Island Cabinets are, by definition, are a group of cabinets or single cabinet that is not attached to walls. They are typically standard cabinetry attached only the floor or possibly cabinets attached to a short “pony wall” or even smaller islands on wheels (carts). Island cabinets should not be confused with a peninsula or a stand alone utility cabinet. Many times I hear clients describing islands in their dream kitchen only to find that they really wanted a banana bar jutting out from the main run of cabinets.
